Research shows that cleaner streets are safer streets (sources: Penn Medicine News and New York Times). An analysis of violent crime locations in Philadelphia correlates with littered streets. We can promote safe, clean, and peaceful neighborhoods with consistent and effective weekly cleanups in targeted areas.

The following partners are working toward this vision:

We completed a 3-month pilot across 8 blocks in East Germantown and Mt Airy. We removed ~12 bags of litter every week. Our presence on the blocks reduced weekly litter amounts and decreased reports of chronic illegal dumping.

We are seeking additional contributions to continue the cleanups and expand our reach and impact. Thank you!
